Ann Duffett, PhD

ADsmileAnn has been conducting public opinion research since 1994. She started her career in survey research at Louis Harris and Associates, where she conducted both public and proprietary opinion research on health care, public education, women′s issues, and youth violence. For 10 years she was at Public Agenda—a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization—where she led dozens of quantitative and qualitative opinion studies on a variety of social policy issues. In 2005 she ventured out to co-found the FDR Group, where she does the kind of research work she loves to do for organizations and issues she cares about.

Before becoming a public opinion research analyst, Ann held positions as an organizer for the National Organization for Women and as staff liaison to the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a national medical association.

Ann holds a PhD in sociology from CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation—Fathers Who Mother: A Study of Stay-at-Home Fathers in Contemporary American Families—explores the issues of gender, work-family balance, parenting, and child care. She also has an MPA from San Francisco State University and a BA in Communications and Elementary Education from Iona College.
